Salsa con Coco Dance School & Performance Team Directors Report for 2011

December 31st, 2011

2011 has seen Salsa con Coco Dance School produce not one but two Performance Teams both of a very high standard with both teams achieving back to back wins at the National Salsa Championships with very few points between each of them. Plus it has been a very successful year for our Dancers Herbert Urdanivia & Mandy Spencer also achieving a win at the National Salsa Championships.

A fun and successful year of parties and balls (We held our first ever Christmas Salsa Ball this year) including successfully hosting the cultural event Peru & Colombian National Day Fiesta.

Plus we now have our own dance class concession cards with very competitive rates.

Salsa con Coco Performance Team and Banda Latina both performed at the Jambalaya Festival March 2011 with Coco instructing a well attended Bachata class.

Also in March 2011 Coco and other Auckland Dance Teachers organised a fund-raising Salsa party and day of workshops to raise funds for the people of Christchurch who have been affected by the earthquakes and aftershocks.

May 2011 Coco was conducting a series of Salsa and Zumba workshops in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

October 2011 Coco and his team put on a spectacular performance for Viva Latino’s 2011 Salsa Ball. The theme for this year’s ball was The Love Boat.

Summer 2011 has seen Coco and his team at Mission Bay by the Fountain (“Salsa con Coco Summer School”) having a great time unwinding, after a very full on year of training, with dancing, playing soccer and picnics.

2012 promises to be an even more exciting year kicking off with Summer Salsa Party and an exciting selection of brand new Performance Teams.
